Coach

It’s been awhile since I’ve blogged anything, kinda ran outta ideas. Fortunately I’m always looking for the next thing. That next thing is looking like health coaching! Yesterday I enrolled in a health coaching course that is aligned with my current practices and beliefs about health, nutrition, and exercise. The goal is to graduate with a certification in health coaching. The particular qualification I’m going to hopefully end up with is from the “Primal Health Coach Institute” developed by Mark Sisson.

Wondering why I’m taking an online 6 month coarse at this time in my life? Today I turned 59. As a reservist in the Canadian Air Force, I will be forced to retire the day before I turn 60. I think that health coaching is going to explode in the near future as more and more people become aware as to how conventional/standard diet practices have negatively effected their health. I believe many will be looking for help turning their health and well-being around. I’m guessing health coaching will be sought after to help guide people to better (and hopefully optimum) health. I want to guide individuals as best I can to better physical and mental versions of themselves, optimally feeling and looking better than ever in their adult lives. No guarantees but I’m very optimistic!

The Primal approach to health began changing my health back in 2012 and as I refine certain things I have been able to turn around years of poor health. This coarse added to all the research I have already done will hopefully provide me with the tools to help people looking for change. The end goal, to start a business that will help as many people as possible. Sounds corny but I just want to try to help people. You would be surprised at how easy it can be to turn your health around using diet and lifestyle changes instead of drugs.

It’s my birthday and I might eat cake but probably not. I plan to blog in the future about my upcoming races and this fall, on how this health coaching idea turns out. Stay tuned.
